As you may know we (Victoria Guisinger, Gina Hughes and Mary Vines) are all Prospect Park and Park Slope Armory YMCA Board of Managers and passionate advocates for our beloved neighborhood institution.  We are calling on you, our friends, to join our fundraising initiative during the Y’s monthlong dollar-for-dollar match: if we can get 40 donors we will unlock $1000 for our Y!  WON’T YOU HELP US??

We all know what the Y means to us personally.  But the Y means so much to so many people and the pandemic’s toll on our community has been significant. As we move through 2021, the heavy burden of social isolation, learning gaps in remote learning, unemployment, and continued health concerns remain a struggle for Brooklyners of all ages. But the Y is ready to meet the moment to rebuild our communities.

Now more than ever, we need your support to continue making a significant impact on thousands of individuals and families, both inside and outside the walls of our Y facilities. Will you consider donating to the Prospect Park & Park Slope Armory Y Community Fund?  Here is what the big bucks can do……

· $100 Helps one child to learn to swim in an 8-week session.

· $250 Gives the gift of wellness by providing a Y membership to two families.

· $500 Provides virtual English classes and support for 30 New Americans.

· $750 Awards one child a scholarship for a session of camp.

· $3,000 Provides a full summer scholarship for one camper.

But even as little as $20 thrown in the bucket will make an impact and help us get the $1K prize.  And as always, each donor will receive a raffle ticket for some awesome Y swag.

So, this is all about helping the Y and helping each other emerge from our homes and start living again.  And for all those friends who are not quite ready for that - maybe you are out and about but not ready to go to a bar - we COMPLETELY understand so that is why YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT TO WIN THE PRIZE – simply make a donation online and your name will be entered to win.
